Epost Express, represented by Tobin Ng (Group CEO) had a great and fruitful meeting with the Director of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Taiwan, Ms. Saudah Mat Isa in Taipei last week. The main topic that was discussed was how Epost Express can assist SMEs in the e-Commerce market in both Taiwan & Malaysia.
Taiwan is well-known for its modern city and traditional cultures that offer abundant opportunities for Malaysian businesses to explore and venture into potential areas such as Electrical & Electronics, ICT, Food & Beverages and Halal products. According to MATRADE, Taiwan was Malaysia’s 6th largest trading partner (after China, Singapore and the United State) in 2018. Meanwhile, Malaysia was Taiwan’s 7th largest trading partner (after China, the United State and Japan) in the same year.
On April 23, 2018, MATRADE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) specifically to enhance bilateral trade cooperation and trade promotion in the fields of Halal, Food & Beverage, ICT and e-Commerce. In the spirit of this collaboration, MATRADE encouraged Malaysian companies to participate in the Taiwan-Malaysia business.
As an e-Commerce logistics platform, Epost Express took this opportunity to expand and aimed to help SMEs to import and export to South East Asia (SEA) market. Last November, Epost Express officiated Taiwan-Malaysia route that featured various online marketplaces in Taiwan.
Now, Epost’s customers, as well as SME businesses are able to take delivery of goods they ordered from Taiwan through the internet and enjoy speedy delivery at low cost which contributes to their business costing advantage.
