Epost e-commerce in just 12 hours managed to supply 50,000 surgical masks throughout Malaysia to citizens who face problems buying them from urban retail outlets, as most of these retail outlets and pharmacies had run out of stock.
Many Malaysians want to have sufficient masks to wear as they are anxious to protect their health due to the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus or 2019-nCoV spreading from China to other parts of the world. Epost e-commerce saves them the trouble to travel to urban outlets to look for masks to buy.
Epost CEO Tobin Ng said, “We started an online website for the benefit of Malaysians and mask suppliers in such times of natural disaster and disease outbreak to ensure no Malaysian is left out, and every Malaysian can buy masks easily. Our e-commerce service ensures fast accessibility nationwide.”
Epost is sending these needed boxes of masks at cost, without profiteering, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its fast, timely e-commerce outreach manages to benefit many Malaysians, especially those who live in suburban and rural areas, both in East and West Malaysia.
This is a good example on how the power and outreach of e-commerce help Malaysians in time of need.
Tobin Ng said, “We will keep sourcing for sufficient supplies to avert an out-of-stock situation for our customers in Malaysia. We are getting stock from 50 to 60 suppliers.”
He is confident that China and other international parties will eventually resolve the Wuhan coronavirus disease outbreak. Epost is playing a useful role to combat the spread of the illness in Malaysia.
